Hey Everyone! 🩷

Welcome back to another Blog! Today we are going to talk about Social Media and how It has impacted my life especially as a YouTuber and Content Creator! We are also going to talk about TikTok and my personal opinions on it!

Let me just start by saying that I have so many Social Media Accounts! SO MANY! I have a YouTube Channel, Email, Instagram, Threads, Facebook, X, BlueSky, My Blog, and now Lemon8! (Link down below) 

When I was young I started to make videos (2011) on a really old computer and they were old home videos that I never posted because I didn't have a phone or social media yet! I made videos on my laptop for fun! I started to keep making them until now (2025) on my YouTube channel. I started my Channel in 2022 with my friend MichaelVlogs and we started our channels together and we both had some experience in the past so we knew what we were doing but now we were going to post it online for the whole world to see. At first I was a bit scared because I only made videos that were private to me and my family and friends but then when I met Michael he had already had a YouTube channel in the past (deleted now) and he shared some of his experiences and it made me feel better about posting online.

So I set very strict rules for my channel and I made sure to monitor every comment that came through just to make sure that people were being respectful to me and my channel! To say I was nervous in the beginning was an understatement! I edited my videos using iMovie! (I still do!) 

I was going to do TikTok but now I'm not so sure anymore. Especially with this ban coming soon! (I hope it dosent get banned). As a content creator and Social Media advicate I personally hate this Ban! I know that the government wants to ban it because its from china but lets be honest... our iPhones and Apple Devices are from China and so many other products that were/are China made or built! So how is this ban different than any of the other stuff made by China. 

What is the point of banning one thing that the country that it was made from has made other products and our everyday items that were made in the same country! I don't understand why! Also shouldn't we also be focusing on other platforms as well like META where they are like TikTok but they were made in the US! META like instagram and Facebook have there own video content section called Reels and I dont understand how people aren't concerned about that!

I understand that it is a US based company but don't get me wrong, aren't all platforms supposed to be for people who want to share there content and what about YouTube its a place to make videos and so are the reels on Insta and Facebook. All I'm saying is why just go after TikTok and go after all of the other platforms that are similarly programed like TikTok where you can just scroll on for hours on end and get caught up in a loop of video after video! What the heck! This is insane! 

There is a lot of things I could talk about with this ban but there is one fact that still stands...TikTok is a Social Media platform just like all the rest, It has videos like Facebook and Instagram reels. Also what is this issue about TikTok stealing data, I honestly don't understand what that's about because there is also other companies like Facebook and Instagram selling your data too! 🤨 How does that make any sense?

In the past, social media was used to connect people and spread helpful information around the world and now its used for peoples opinions and politics (I refuse to get into that) So now the government is saying that it's "violating" the 1st amendment (right to free speech) isn't that what the news and social media platforms are for?? Informing people of things going on in the world. I don't watch the news but I have been watching TikTok's news channels (short videos that are on TikTok) and it's just a shorter version and a better understanding of the news instead of watching the whole thing and not understanding what there saying. 

*This is the longest blog I have ever written and there is a lot to say and I just wanted to say that if the ban does happen I will be on these platforms so that you can see more of me and I will be talking about this on my YT channel. * LINKS TO MY SOCIAL MEDIA'S DOWN BELOW!

I wonder if any government officials ever use TikTok??? What do you think about that? I wonder if they are just as sad as us?? what are your thoughts let me know!! Hmm...???

 I know that a lot of content creators on TikTok have started their businesses and have earned money from the platform like YouTube. As a content creator what do you think of the ban? I hope that this ban doesn't take place. I personally was gonna do TikTok for my YT channel but now it's too late!

(Update!)  It's gonna happen! The supreme court just upheld the ban and now we have 2 days left and honestly I dont know what to do! I also have heard that it will shut down one day early! I honestly am so mad! I use TikTok for finding great songs and videos that other people have made to inspire me to make my YouTube videos and other content! I know that there are some people who will shut down there social media (Meta) and not use it anymore but honestly I dont know! All I know is that I'm so mad and so sad because here are my takeaways from the ban! 

As a content creator I implore you to speak out about your feelings and your opinions on any platform and talk about the things you want to talk about and not feel like your being controlled by people who just want to gaslight you and control what you say and do! I also know that there are a lot of people on the platform that have made there businesses using TikTok and started something that is so great that the American people have invested into it! I also know that the government is still talking about the DATA that is being collected from the app and honestly WHO CARES! Do you realize that a lot of the products and furniture and supplies you use in your daily life IS FROM CHINA! I don't think the government realizes that not only are we mad and sad about this but we are laughing because this is so stupid! I honestly don't understand what the world is coming to! 

Also, there is also the talk of people moving to another platform that is also owned by china and that can teach you mandarin and is just like TikTok. I haven't had the chance to check it out yet but I might soon just to see what the hype is all about. The platform is called Red Note and it's owned by china. There is also another platform that people are also using (including me) called Lemon8 that is owned by ByteDance that is the company that also owns TikTok! I will be using that for the foreseeable future! 

There are also a lot of people saying that there are people who are gonna start buying TikTok! I can name a few! MrBeast, Elon Musk, and the next President Of The United States Donald Trump. (I personally will not get into politics for my own reasons.) However I just hope that whoever buys TikTok will buy it soon! Because I really dont want it to go away! Also honestly, I don't really like the other platforms because I feel like people don't check them as often. 

Also TikTok used to be Musical.ly and I was so happy I was doing dances and songs and it was so fun! Then it merged with TikTok and then it really became popular and now it's gonna be gone! I will miss it because I found great music on there and if it wasn't for TikTok then I wouldn't have so many playlists and music that I listen to daily! I'm really gonna miss it!
